Operations Manager, Community Outreach and Impact (COI)

National Housing Trust (NHT) has been dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing for almost 40 years. We build, preserve, finance, and/or manage more than 4,000 affordable housing units across the mid-Atlantic region, and use that expertise to inform and advance resident-focused solutions to strengthen the broader affordable housing industry.
NHT has a staff of 60+ across five program areas: Policy, Lending, Real Estate Development, Community Outreach and Impact, and Sustainability. Our Community Outreach and Impact (COI) team is dedicated to resident success. We believe that all people deserve affordable housing and that integrated, onsite services provide accessible support to our residents.
POSITION
This is an opportunity to contribute to the growing Community Outreach and Impact (COI) team and have an impact on more than 4,000 families in affordable housing communities across NHT’s portfolio. This unique opportunity allows the candidate to work with an organization dedicated to the success of the affordable housing communities in which we serve.
The COI Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the COI team, working closely with the Managing Director of COI to advance the strategic priorities in relation to department goals and NHT’s strategic plan. This position will be part of a highly collaborative team dedicated to empowering residents and fostering community agency as a central goal of COI programs and services. As part of their primary responsibility in managing daily operations, this position will support the COI Regional Manager and Resident Services Coordinators to implement, manage and evaluate programs and processes that contribute to resident success.
Due to the continuous growth of team operations, this position necessitates a self-starter approach as well as strong organizational and project management skills. This includes assessing the efficacy of current systems and structures for department operations, and innovating new functional processes that support sustainable growth and development of the business line. The COI Operations Manager will provide oversight to community programs and partnerships in NHT’s portfolio as assigned. This position reports to the Managing Director of COI.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the operational execution of key program initiatives in conjunction with the Managing Director of COI. Oversee program management and evaluation as it relates to key program initiatives.
- Act as an administrator for Salesforce. This includes, but is not limited to, field and object management, training curriculum, data uploads and integrity, dashboard management and reporting, and maintenance of team user guide.
- Manage data collection protocols and policies to continuously inform the planning and development of COI programs.
- Lead the development of special program initiatives. This includes both program implementation and staff supervision.
- Operationalize portfolio compliance with CORES standards.
- Work with legal counsel to assure legal and organizational compliance within program engagement and service delivery. This includes partnerships/vendors and residents.
- Support team onboarding and training both in conjunction with the COI Regional Manager and independently on project- and program-specific activities.
- Serve as the central point of contact for technology inventory (specifically Microsoft Teams and the Device Loan Program) and work with IT Partners to address technology/cloud-based needs.
- Liaison with other NHT departments to communicate and collaborate on resident and community needs.
- Work with NHT’s Asset Management team to collect community-level data to identify resident concerns and community-specific needs that inform tailored program solutions. Document resident data into Salesforce appropriately.
- Oversee resident data collection and reporting methods to ensure sensitive information collected is secured, recorded, and disposed of in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other NHT business lines on projects related to resident and community engagement.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications and deliverables. Manage stewardship and implementation of grant agreements.

- Ability to create, compose and edit written materials for community-wide distribution.
- Advanced knowledge of computer systems, applications and general computer skills at a highly proficient level; this includes Office 365 and cloud-based databases such as Salesforce.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills, including both verbal and written skills in physical and virtual settings.
- Ability to work the occasional weekend and/or evening.
- Spanish language skills are strongly preferred, both written and verbal.
COMPENSATION
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $67,907.39 to $90,560.95
