National Housing Trust Named Bank of America’s 2019 Neighborhood Builder
Last week, Bank of America named NHT as one of the recipients of their 2019 Neighborhood Builders Award. Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders® program deploys capital and builds cross-sector partnerships to advance nonprofit leaders addressing economic mobility and social progress issues in the communities they serve. In addition to a $200,000 grant, NHT will receive leadership training for an executive and emerging leader, and the opportunity to access capital for further expansion of their social impact.
NHT currently owns 35 affordable housing communities nationwide, with 13 in the Greater Washington Area. The Neighborhood Builders award enables NHT to generate even greater impact throughout the National Capital area. Headquartered in D.C. and surrounded by the largest concentration of communities in our portfolio, NHT is pleased to put this capital from Bank of America toward the best possible use: improving housing options for families right here in the District.
In addition to NHT, Manna Food Center of Montgomery County, MD was also named as a 2019 Neighborhood Builder.
