Two NHT-Enterprise Residents Awarded Academic Scholarships

Congratulations are in order for two residents at our NHT-Enterprise-owned community: Hazel Hill in Fredericksburg, Virginia! Brothers Faizullah Fnu and Saifullah Khan have both received a $2,500 scholarship through the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) Educational Foundation Scholarship program.

Over the summer, the Hazel Hill Community Manager sent notices to inform all residents of the scholarship program and assisted Faizullah and Saifullah with their applications. The brothers just graduated with Associate’s Degrees in general studies with honors from Germanna Community College. They are now enrolled at the University of Mary Washington College where they plan to further their studies in the medical field.

NAHMA’s Educational Foundation selected a total of 130 students to receive scholarships in 2017. The program set records in 2017 with the number of complete applications received, the number of scholarships awarded, and the total amount of money to be distributed.

In addition to the $2,500 scholarship, Saifullah also received an additional $7,500 Mid-Atlantic Affordable Housing Management Association (MA-AHMA) boost award.

The National Housing Trust is proud of Faizullah’s and Saifullah’s outstanding academic accomplishments and will continue to support the brothers as they continue their education at the University of Mary Washington College.
