Vanessa joined the National Housing Trust in July 2019 as the part-time Resident Service Coordinator. She engages residents on a regular basis and assists them with all facets of life, including financial literacy, professional development, and individual case management.

Prior to joining NHT as an employee, Vanessa was a consultant for NHT through the Work First University, an initiative funded by the D.C. Office of Employment Services, which targeted youth professional development and engagement. Vanessa Bonano earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Masters in School Counseling from Norfolk State University. Since graduating with her Masters degree, Vanessa has found pleasure in connecting families to resources, employment, and housing through the Rapid Re-housing program.
