Funders for Housing and Opportunity Awards First Round of Grants

Nine of the nation’s largest private foundations have joined forces to form Funders for Housing Opportunity (FHO). Their purpose? Simple: make catalytic investments in activities that address housing insecurity and improve the lives of people and families who have difficulty affording a place to call home.

Where Will We Live?

Funders for Housing and Opportunity has a bold goal: To ensure individuals and families across America who spend more than half of their income on rent -- or have no homes at all -- will be able to afford safe, stable rentals in thriving communities. That goal is shared in NHT’s Where Will We Live? Campaign. The campaign is funded by FHO and the JPB Foundation. The Where Will We Live? Campaign emphasizes:

  1. Housing stability as a cross-sector issue
  2. Housing security creating pathways to opportunities
  3. The scale of the problem cannot be addressed in isolation

We are excited to coordinate with FHO, JPB and other grantees to catalyze sustainable, long-term change and make a measurable difference in the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable families.
