Vote for NHT’s Save HUD 202 video in the Storymakers Competition

The National Housing Trust is currently competing in a TechSoup competition entitled: Storymakers 2017. The competition invites non-profit organizations from across the world to submit a storytelling video and we ask that you please vote for NHT’s Save HUD 202 Rally Video!

The Save HUD 202 video follows NHT-Enterprise senior residents from Mountainview Tower in Cumberland, MD as they travel to Washington, D.C. to participate in the “Save HUD 202 Rally” on Capitol Hill. Save HUD 202 is a campaign to protect the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202 program. The campaign was a comprehensive, multi-month effort to convince lawmakers to fully fund affordable housing for seniors.

The Save HUD 202 rally allowed senior residents of Section 202 properties to voice their opposition to cuts in this important housing resource. Storymakers also doubles as an educational campaign focused on digital media. Its purpose is to build the skills of media makers and enthusiasts in the nonprofit sector. The goal is to educate and inspire nonprofits to create powerful stories about the social benefits of their important work. The Storymakers campaign offers education, training, online and in-person workshop events, in addition to the contest.
